The need for social, political, ecological, and spiritual change is evident in our times. In early 2017, New Acropolis Cultural Organization conceived Empowering Real Change, an ongoing series of events to examine the journeys of leading change-makers.
The first event of the series explored the true role of education in society and the tools need for each of us as individuals to take responsibility for our collective future, in order to forge sustainable change in our world today. In November 2018, a panel discussion and presentation titled Empowering Real Change: Philosophy and the Arts investigated the intimate relationship between these two fields as instruments for self-discovery and transformation.
On 15th December 2018, a full-day conference Empowering Real Change: Leadership for a Better World, brought together distinguished leaders from multiple fields in honour of the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. The event spearheaded a global celebration of Gandhi’s iconic leadership by calling upon our affiliate associations comprising over 500 centres across 60 countries, to celebrate his philosophical legacy through cultural activities, conferences, and exhibitions.
Over 175 international events have been organised as a response to this call, with many more being planned worldwide.
