On the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Empowering Real Change: Leadership for a Better World draws inspiration from Gandhi’s relentless pursuit of Truth. This full-day conference brought together esteemed change-makers who have been striving to make a better world through various fields such as Education, Philosophy, Ecology, Anthropology, Governance, Microfinance and Corporate Responsibility.
The event spearheaded a global celebration of Gandhi’s iconic leadership by calling upon our affiliate associations comprising over 500 centres across 60 countries, to celebrate his philosophical legacy through cultural activities, conferences, and exhibitions.
Over 175 international events have been organised as a response to this call, with many more being planned worldwide. (Click Here)
I appreciate the efforts of the New Acropolis Cultural Organization in providing a platform to develop leadership for a better world, inspired by the ideal of Mahatma Gandhi. I am positive that the conference will be instrumental in leveraging the strength of quintessential Indian ideals that Bapu symbolized.
It is praiseworthy that New Acropolis Cultural Organization is celebrating 150th Birth anniversary of Rashtra Pita Mahatma Gandhi and that to mark the celebration, an event with the theme, Empowering Real Change: Leadership for a Better World, has been organized.
I am pleased to know that this conference, "Empowering Real Change: Leadership for a Better World”, is being hosted to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi’s birth.
I’m delighted to be with you today, and with New Acropolis India, for the celebration of the 150 years of Mahatma Gandhi’s birth… Our present civilization follows a greed way of civilization. By approaching it with our creative power, we can undo the greed way, and transform it into a civilization based on human values; with empathy, peace and friendship. And that’s the task. I hope that in our discussions and deliberations we come to feel that we can unleash the creative capacity to make things happen.
I believe that events like these are especially needed today, in order to educate our youth, to inspire them to dare to dream and empower them to participate in the building of a better world. And I congratulate New Acropolis to have taken this initiative as a tribute to Gandhiji’s Legacy.
I am delighted that New Acropolis India, is hosting an important conference on Empowering Real Change…In order to accomplish such a transformation and bring about a holistic perspective, we need a new kind of leadership emerging from grass roots level and based on the principle of selfless service.
I wish New Acropolis all success in rekindling The Mahatma's beliefs among all of us.
“Empowering Real Change: Leadership for a Better World”, the third event in the “Empowering Real Change” series brought together distinguished leaders who have dared to take the path less traveled. These change-makers demonstrated the ability to transform challenges into opportunities. Our esteemed speakers included Padma Shri awardee Anu Aga (Teach for India), philanthropist Ronnie Screwvala (The Swades Foundation), Rolex Award recipient Sonam Wangchuk (SECMOL, HIAL), Dr. Vandana Shiva (Navdanya), Chetna Gala Sinha (Mann Deshi Bank), Dr. Saamdu Chetri (Gross National Happiness Centre, Bhutan), Dr. Tridip Suhrud (Gandhian Historian), Fernand Schwarz (Author and International Institution Hermes), Pierre Poulain (Author, Philosopher and Photographer), Yaron Barzilay (New Acropolis Cultural Organization).
Contributing to the Government of India’s initiative to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi at a national and international level, and using this opportunity to share India’s philosophical and human heritage with a global forum, New Acropolis Cultural Organisation invites our affiliate associations comprising over 500 centres across 60 countries, to celebrate his Gandhi’s legacy through cultural activities, conferences, and exhibitions.
