In honour of the 150th Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, New Acropolis Russia (Ekaterinburg) organised a lecture titled Mahatma Gandhi: Life in Search of Truth on 19th September, 2019. The lecture was the first of a series of events by New Acropolis Russia to celebrate this occasion.
It was through Gandhi that India gained independence from colonial rule, and Mahatma became a force which inspired an entire generation to fight for Justice. His offering of Satyagraha or “the perseverance in truth” impacted the entire world.
Lecturers Julia Lutz and Ilya Barabash introduced philosophical principles of Satyagraha and Ahimsa (non-violence), while the audience contemplated how we can be followers of Truth in our daily lives and how philosophy can help us become the change we wish to see in the world.
