As part of the National Festival organised by New Acropolis France to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, an event was organised at New Acropolis Paris (Paris 11 Branch) with Fernand Schwarz, National Director of New Acropolis France and philosopher and photographer Pierre Poulain. Pierre spoke about the relationship between Gandhi and Cartier-Bresson philosophies, while Fernando spoke about Gandhis’ concept of Swaraj or self-rule. An olive tree named Gandhiva was planted inside the lobby of New Acropolis Paris 11, as a “Tree of Peace” in honour of Gandhi, with the patronage of the Embassy of India

The event was attended by 97 people, including the third secretary of the Embassy of India.
