On the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, New Acropolis in Bratislava organized a conference  celebrating Gandhi’s life and his philosophy.

Gandhi promoted the philosophy of an active but non-violent resistance, based on the principle of Ahimsa (non-violence), which ultimately led to India’s independence. He was a living example of the fact that, beyond a multitude of weapons, human beings are armed with an incredible force called Love. Gandhi spoke of non-violence as a weapon for the strong hearted, those who dare to fight for what they believe in. The Non-violence Gandhi spoke of was a spiritual struggle, that could enable each individual to discover their ethical values and strength of character.

  • The conference explored the life and philosophy of the great thinker and reformer that was Gandhi, as well as his path of non-violence, his idealism and his firm will. The lectures also touched upon the importance of education and the value of ethics in our world today.
