“As human beings, our greatness lies not so much in being able to remake the world but in being able to remake ourselves”
– Mahatma Gandhi
To commemorate the 150th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi’s birth, New Acropolis Toronto (along with several New Acropolis centres across the world) honours the memory and legacy of Gandhi, with two events across the city. Gandhi has inspired millions of people around the globe, including Martin Luther King Jr., Nelson Mandela and the Dalai Lama.
How did Mohandas Gandhi, a young man who was shy and battered by failures, become Mahatma Gandhi – one of the greatest spiritual idealists and leaders that the world has ever seen? What was the source of his knowledge and how did he use this knowledge to transform himself? How was he able to integrate the ideals of truth, love and service into his everyday life?
Through Gandhi’s life, join us to discover how we can all awaken the spiritual idealist within and begin the journey towards the real and sustainable change we want to see in the world today!
A lecture on the same subject will be held at the North York Central Library on 28th September, and at New Acropolis Ottawa on 4th November.
