In commemoration of the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, New Acropolis Germany hosts events across 3 cities.
In Munich, coach, author, musician, businessman and artist, Jolly Kunjappu, gave a lecture celebrating the life of Gandhi. In our times today that are characterised by constant change, the event explored the inspiration we can take from Gandhi’s example of peacefully transforming our world by working on ourselves.
In Stuttgart, a lecture accompanied by a traditional Indian dance performance was held, under the patronage of the Honorary Consul of India in Stuttgart Mr. Andreas Lapp. The talk investigated Gandhi’s approach to freedom. He liberated his country from colonial rule by first asking himself to live the values he wished to see manifested in his nation. He called it satyagraha – the pursuit of truth, non-violence and self-determination.
In Nuremberg, as a part of the Long Night of Sciences initiative, a series of lectures about Mahatma Gandhi and his principles of Satyagraha and Ahimsa were given, where New Acropolis along with 400 other institutions in the Nuremberg-Fürth-Erlangen metropolitan participated in this tribute.
