Gandhi lived with austerity and modesty, never accepting the title of Mahatma (Great Soul) given to him by poet Rabindranath Tagore. Through his thought and action, Gandhi questioned and eventually altered the political and ideological norms of the world in the 20th century, and has become an example for justice and tolerance the world over.

As part of the nation-wide series of events to celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of Gandhi, New Acropolis Spain (Bilbao) hosted a talk by Professor Francisco Sánchez, who has over 40 years of experience in teaching philosophy,  and is an expert in comparative religions and ancient cultures.
