New Acropolis Bosnia and Herzegovina (Sarajevo) celebrates the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, one of the greatest political and spiritual leaders the world has ever seen. Gandhi, referred to as Mahatma or Great Soul, heroically opposed used the power of non-violence, courage and love for 30 years, eventually leading to the liberation of a nation. In our present day and age, Gandhi’s teachings such as nonviolence, tolerance, truthfulness and anti-consumerism are relavent and important.

 

What is Gandhi’s philosophy of nonviolence? How did he inspire so many people to create a change? How can each of us learn be the change we wish to see in the world? The event will include a lecture by Barbara Milošević Mujić, head New Acropolis Association (Bosnia and Herzegovina) on Gandhi’s life and his philosophy of violence, and will supported by readings from Gandhi’s speeches and texts.
